TanSome Sunless Tanning Lotion – Application

Is your sunless tanning product contained within a premium moisturizing lotion? If not, then you have the "sunless tanning vs moisturizing" problem. Which should you apply first - the sunless tanning product, or the premium moisturizing lotion?

Sunless Tanning vs Moisturizing

Sunless tanning products can take many forms: sprays, concentrates, wipes, lotions, etc. If you apply your sunless tanning product first, it will absorb into your skin, creating a shield. If you apply a second lotion atop the newly absorbed tanning product, it is like painting over a dried coat of paint. The second coat does not penetrate through to the wall, it simply covers the first coat.

Conversely, if you apply your premium body lotion first, it will absorb into your skin, creating a shield. Again, if you apply a tanning product atop the premium lotion, it is like painting over a dried coat of paint. The second coat does not penetrate through to the wall, it simply covers the first coat.

If you use a tanning product that contains no moisturizing lotion, then you may apply either first. However, you must apply the second before the first fully absorbs into your skin. If you apply either first and allow it to completely absorb into your skin, then you must wait at least 30 minutes before applying the second. Be sure your lotion does not contain any mineral oil, petroleum distillates, parabens, etc (these are industrial chemicals used by large companies, such as Eucerin, Hawaiian Tropic, L'Oreal, etc because of their low prices).

Sunless Tanning and Moisturizing

To combat the "sunless tanning vs moisturizing" problem, let's use the paint analogy. If you want to paint your walls brown, don't you think that using brown paint would be smart? In other words, don't you think that mixing the brown pigments within the base paint would be smart? Of course it would!! Then it stands to reason that mixing the tanning agents within a premium body lotion would be smart too.

TanSome Sunless Tanning Lotion does exactly this ––– it places time–released tanning agents within a premium body lotion to provide the best of both worlds. Compare its ingredients to the ingredients in your current body lotion TanSome Ingredients. You will quickly realize that your lotion is probably not truly nourishing and rehydrating your skin. To nourish your skin, you must provide it with an array of natural antioxidants, tropical oils and butters, and vitamins for a healthy and supple skin.

Apply TanSome Sunless Tanning Lotion in successive small areas, starting with your lower legs. Pour a small dollop of lotion into your palm (about the size of a quarter) and apply to your lower leg using small circular motions. Maintain the motion until most of the lotion has been absorbed by the skin.

Depending upon your skin's absorbability, one to two dollops of lotion may be needed per lower leg. After both lower legs are covered, apply lotion to your upper legs. Apply lotion to only those places you want tan. Keep applying to those areas you want tanned. As with any lotion, be careful about placing the lotion close to your eyes.... just being close may allow migration of the chemicals into your eyes. If this occurs, immediately wash your eye(s) with warm fresh water to flush all the chemicals; the slight irritation should quickly subside.

To apply lotion to your back, we recommend you purchase Roll-A-Lotion Applicator. This applicator, shown below, can be purchased at several stores. We found the best price at Amazon.com. The price is about $6 and works very well.

The exact amount of lotion used varies according to your skin's unique absorbability properties that exist from location to location. You will discover the differences over time. The tanning process is so gradual that you will slightly notice very minute differences in tanning between locations; you will use more / less in these locations as required on your next application. This will be especially true for palms, soles, skin folds, knees, etc.

The drying time for the lotion to absorb depends upon myriad factors: body temperature, environment temperature, environment humidity, skin absorption properties, etc. Ensure full absorption before dressing.

Be sure to wash your fingernails thoroughly since they are made of keratin, the component within your skin that the tanning agents oxidize. Failing to wash your fingernails will result in "tanned fingernails."

After washing your hands, dry them thoroughly and apply a small dollop of lotion into your palms. Wring your hands and fingers together until total absorption. If this step is performed correctly, you will not get those orange and brown spots between your fingers.
